The Karnataka High court on sentenced cyanide Mohan to imprisonment for life without remission thereby rejecting the trial courts death sentence.
The division bench of Justice Ravi Malimath and Justice John Michael Cunha awarded the judgement based on the substantial evidence provided by the prosecution and based on the gravity of the offences committed by Mohan.
Mohan who is a teacher by profession has poisoned 20 young women to death between 2003 and 2009. Mohan lured the women into marriage and killed them after administering them cyanide laced 'anti pregnancy' pills.
Mohan has been convicted in three cases and was awarded death sentence by a lower sessions court in 2013
