A youth drowned in river Cauvery at Yadamuri falls near Belagola in the taluk on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Pradeep (23), son of Chikkarangaiah, an employee of a private company from Arasanakere village, Mysuru taluk.
Pradeep, along with five of his friends, had come for a picnic to Yadamuri when he drowned. All efforts made by his friends to rescue him failed. KRS police have registered a case.
B'luru youth
In another incident, a youth from Bengaluru drowned at Balamuri on Saturday. The deceased is Asif (24) son of Mukhtar, a resident of Banaswadi, Bengaluru. Asif went for a swim but got washed away. His body was retrieved on Saturday evening and handed over to his family.
