India repatriates 13 Pak prisoners

India on Thursday repatriated 13 Pakistani citizens who were lodged in Indian jails.

Those sent back include nine fishermen and four other civilians. A child was also repatriated from India to Pakistan through Attari-Wagah border, the Ministry of External Affairs said.

Two Pakistani civilian prisoners were also released from jails in India on September 28, 2017.

"India attaches the high priority to addressing all humanitarian issues, including early release and repatriation of Indian fishermen and prisoners in Pakistan's custody. Release of 370 Indian prisoners, including 363 fishermen, has been secured in 2017 so far," Raveesh Kumar, spokesperson of the MEA, said.
