Indian Medical Association country's largest association of doctors on Friday extended its support to the Karnataka doctors, who didn't attend the outpatient department of private hospitals to protest against a proposed legislation.

IMA national president K K Aggarwal said this was the second time the Karnataka unit of the IMA had to represent on the roads in the past six months and if the demands were not met, the national unit too would join the protest.

"Medical professionals are aware strike is not community friendly and not the dharma of medical profession, But the Chief Minister should be equally liable if he forces the medical profession to go for a strike," he said in a statement.
