Teachers in C'magalur too boycott SSLC valuation

Teachers at the Town Mahila Samaja School valuation camp boycotted the valuation works and urged the government to take initiative to fulfill their demands immediately. While college lecturers on valuation duty were paid Rs 450 as travel allowance, high school teachers were given on Rs 200. Similarly, while Rs 15 per paper is being paid for PU answer sheet valuation, high school teachers were paid only Rs 8 per paper, teachers explained adding that the unfair treatment meted out to the high school teachers should be solved.

They demanded that teachers in government high schools should be promoted on 75:25 proportion. The special Kannada allowance should be distributed to aided high school assistant teachers as per the court directive. Job security should be ensured to all teachers in the unaided schools, protestors emphasised.

They warned that the protest will be intensified if their demands were not met in future. Association President K V Kallesh, Secretary K R Prabhakar, Treasurer C E Manjunath, Joint Secretaries H M Omkarappa, S K Tanuja, Mallikarjuna, Organising Secretaries A B Bhujangachar, N S Kumar and M R Nagabhushan were present.
