China's step on Masood not to deter India

Last Updated 03 November 2017, 20:49 IST

India on Friday vowed to continue the fight against terrorism with other like-minded nations, notwithstanding China's latest move to shield terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed's leader Masood Azhar from United Nations' sanctions.

New Delhi stated that its fight against the menace of terrorism would not be deterred by the decision taken by Beijing on Thursday to block a consensus at a UN Security Council panel on the
process initiated by the US, UK and France to bring the JeM chief under international sanctions.

"The decision by a country to block a consensus should not be seen as an end to our counter-terrorism efforts. What is important is that it does not, in any way, take away our resolve to fight terrorism," Raveesh Kumar, Joint Secretary (External Publicity) and spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, told journalists in New Delhi.
