Week-long film festival in the city

 The Department of Information and Public Relations will be organising a week-long film festival in the city from November 17 to November 23.

Films which have bagged the state and the national awards will be freely screened for the public.

The film festival will be inaugurated at the Gayathree Theatre in the city at 9.30 am. It will be inaugurated by actor T C Nataraj. Deptuy Commissioner K P Mohanraj, additional deputy commissioner C Anitha and assistant commissioner Tabassum Jahera will be present on the occasion. Senior theatreperson Dr Lakshman Das will preside over the programme.

Only one show will be held at the Gayathree Theatre from 10 am as part of the film festival. On November 17, film "Amaravathi" directed by B M Giriraj will be exhibited. On November 18, "Kirik Party" director by Rishab Shetty and acted by Rakshit Shetty will be held, on November 19, "Rama Rama Re" directed by D Sathya Prakash will be held, "Madipu" (Tulu langauge) directed by Chethan Mandadi will be screen on November 20, "U-Turn" directed by Pavan Kumar will be screened on November 21, "Allama" directed by T S Nagabharana will be screened on November 22, "Marikondavaru" directed by K Shivarudraiah will be screened on November 23.

This was stated in an official press release issued by D Manjunath, senior assistant director of the Department of Information and Public Relations, here on Wednesday.
