Karnataka: Bill to regularise illegal houses on unrecorded habitations tabled

A bill to regularise unauthorised houses on government land in unrecorded habitations was tabled in the Legislative Assembly  on Monday.

The Karnataka Land Revenue (Third Amendment) Bill, 2017, proposed to regularise houses constructed on government land in unrecorded habitations like Lambani tanda, Gollarahatti, Vaddarahatti, Kurubarahatti, Nayakarahatti, Majare grama, Hadi, Doddi, Palya among others.

The land on which dwelling has been built will also be transferred to the applicant with the condition that it shall not be sold for a period of 15 years from the date of receiving grant certificate.

Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa tabled the bill.
