A release said that the workshop is aimed at capacity building of health professionals and make them ready-to-be-deployed in case of any natural and man-made disasters.

The workshop is being attended by selected doctors across all the 30 districts of Karnataka and few doctors across the country.

This is the beginning of many such workshop series to build a disaster-resilient nation by CHD Group and its affiliated partners.

Dr Edmond Fernandes, CEO, CHD Group, is the key trainer for the two-day workshop. Other invited speakers are Dr Joylene Almeida, consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist and specialist in high-risk pregnancy and adolescent gynaecology, and Dr Celian, Global Public Health expert from Bengaluru.

CHD Group is a public health organisation working with governments, academia, UN agencies, corporate and faith based coalitions to further the public health agenda and build risk reduction approaches across the state and country.
