Impotent husband batters bride in AP

Last Updated 02 December 2017, 19:38 IST

A newly-wed man battered his bride for complaining about his inability to consummate on their first night after he had fore-warned her.

The woman, an MBA holder, has been hospitalised and her husband, a school teacher, has been arrested by police.

According to Nellore Sub inspector Rajasekhar, the incident took place in Motharanganapalle village in Gangadhara Nellore block of Andhra Pradesh. Rajesh, a teacher in a neighbouring school, married Sailaja on Thursday. Their first night was arranged on Friday. Rajesh turned violent in bed, biting her indiscriminately, punching her in the face and slashing sensitive body parts with a blade. "She ran out of the room in fear", the victim's mother Manjula told police, demanding stern action against the culprit.

Sailaja, who has been shifted to a corporate hospital in Chittor, told police that the bridegroom asked her not to tell anyone that he was impotent and indulged in unnatural acts. The girl, on the pretext of using the toilet, rushed to her parents and relatives and informed them about the bizarre experience. After she was forced by her parents to return to the bedroom, a furious Rajesh attacked her by stuffing a rag in her mouth and punching her indiscriminately. Sailaja somehow escaped from his grip and shouted for help till her parents rescued her.

A case under IPC sections 324 (causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and 506 (criminal intimidation) has been registered against Rajesh.
