Social issues form the theme of his plays. Giri’s contribution to the cultural scene of Kolar spans four decades.
Participating in the Kalajatha, Giri has travelled across nine districts and has shown his plays. Moreover, his plays have been performed in various districts of the State.
He was awarded the Karnataka Nataka Academy Award in 2000. He also has to his credit numerous titles like Kalabhargava, Kala Ratna, Kolar Ratna, Kalasri and others.
Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, ministers D Sudhakar and Govind Karajol participated in the award ceremony.
