Top cop's orders for people friendly policing

The state police chief's latest orders is all set to make the city policing a people friendly one. Neelmani Raju, the DGP & IGP has issued a memo to all police stations to embrace Jana Snehi Police (people friendly police) and treat general public visitng the police stations in a friendly way.

The DGP has directed all the SPs and commissioners to set up a reception desk in each police station and utilize funds kept for the scheme. Government has sanctioned Rs 1 lakh to each police station for a reception desk.  

The top cop directed its implementaion in all the police station by this month end. She further asked the compliance report by December 31 along with photograph of reception area of which police station and other offices.

All the commissionerates and district SPs are directed to take the following measures to effectively implement the scheme.

* A reception desk should be established at each police station

* A MAY I HELP YOU placard should be put up in Kannada and English

* In the visitor register, details of the visitor should be mentioned

* There should be proper desk for reception officer and chairs, fan, water etc for the complainants.

*At Least three to four suitable police personnel should be trained to behave with general public

*If any police station have not received funds, they should send their request and money could be disbursed immediately

*The police officers should check the visitors register at regular intervals

* There is plan to provide computer system at reception desk and once it is done, visitors reception will be computerised and senior officers should check the data from their offices

*Reception desk should also be operational in the office of circle inspectors and DSPs of sub division in a similar manner.
