The city police are trying to reach out to a 23-year-old woman to get her to file a complaint against an Ola cab driver.
The woman had complained to Ola about her harrowing experience on December 3. Based on her complaint, the company suspended the driver's service.
Now, the woman has again lodged a complaint with the company's safety team that she is getting threat calls from the driver.
The police said they came to know about the incident through the media.
On Sunday night, the woman was going from Chinmaya Mission Hospital, Indiranagar, towards home in BTM Layout.
During the trip, the driver, identified as Rajashekar Reddy, stopped the cab at the Intermediate Ring Road, locked the doors and started touching her inappropriately, the victim's complaint stated.
Petrified, she protested, pushed his arms away and banged on the car windows to garner attention, it said.
Reddy then resumed driving and dropped her near her house.
The woman lodged a complaint with the Ola safety team, which suspended Reddy's services with immediate effect. Following this, she started receiving threat calls from Reddy, the complaint said.
"We are in the process of reaching out to the victim, instill confidence and persuade her to give us a complaint so that we take action against the driver," said a senior police officer from the Madiwala station.
Ola expresses regret
"We regret the unfortunate experience the customer had during her ride. We have zero tolerance to such incidents and the driver has been suspended from the platform as an immediate action upon receiving the complaint," Ola said, reacting to the incident.
The team also persuaded the woman to take up the case with the police authorities.
