The 10th National Integration Camp (NIC) was inaugurated at VS Acharya Hall at Alva's Campus in Moodbidri, on Wednesday, with the sole aim of bringing together people of the country from far and wide and venture deep down into the vastness of oneness, brotherhood, culture, tradition and unity in diversity.

In his inaugural address, Camp Commander Colonel A Nautiyal said that every cadet should pick up the good things that come on their way and ignore the obstacles and move forward.

"The NIC aims at bringing together young cadets of the land and train them for the future of India, teaching them culture, tradition, religion and folks of the country," he said.

Alva's Education Foundation Trustee Vivek Alva presided over the programme and said that the sole purpose of the NIC was the process of integration. Moreover, NCC cadets are respected for the person they are within themselves and not for the uniform they adorn. They stand as role models for the country and work together to change the country and bring glory to the land.

A total of 600 cadets, 16 from each state of India made their way to the NIC.

Colonels V M Nayak, Sanjay Apte, Lieutenant B Rajesh, Alva's college Principal Dr Kurien and others were present on the occasion.
