<p align="justify">Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa has directed the officials to file an FIR against an erring clerk who was responsible for a missing register book and for not clearing applications submitted by the beneficiaries under Akrama Sakrama Yojane in Virajpet taluk.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">At a review meeting on Friday, the minister took Tahsildar R Govindaraj to task for not clearing 1,612 application under 94 A of Land revenue Act.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">Reacting to which, the tahsildar said that the register book is missing and the complaint has already been submitted. However, no FIR has been filed. A few applications have been tampered with and Lokayukta is probing into it. As a result, only 300 to 400 applications have been disposed of so far.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">Thimmappa called SP P Rajendra Prasad and directed him to file an FIR. He also directed DC Sreevidya to write to the government regarding the erring official.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">The minister also directed the officials to clear all the pending applications submitted under section 94 A and distribute the title deeds by March end. "If the forest is not grown on C and D land, then it should be returned to the revenue department to be distributed among the beneficiaries," he said.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">MLA K G Bopaiah said of 2,208 applications under Akrama Sakrama, 1580 applications have been rejected in Madikeri. To which, Tahsildar Kusuma said "the applications of a newly built house and houses constructed beside the national highway has been rejected."</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">The MLA said that instead of attending the meeting convened by the revenue minister, the DFO has attended a sports meet in Belagavi. "Will participating in a sports meet assure him a promotion. The officer should respond to the woes of the people." The minister then asked the Deputy Commissioner to respond to the woes of the public.</p>
