About 100 to 120 houses are situated at Bantaganahalli. The village did not have any historical significance so far. When the villagers decided to renovate the age old temple, they unearthed stone edicts, statue and four pillars around the temple in the form of mantapa.

The villagers urged the historians to make a study on the edicts to know the history of the temple and the village.

The senior citizens in the village said “our forefathers were saying that several rituals were held in the temple during shravana maasa. The temple is also called Sri Tripuranthakeshavaswamy temple. However, owing to the communal disturbances in the region few years ago, all the rituals in the temple were stopped. Now the villagers had come forward to renovate the temple,” they added.
