He said “after December 22, no Naxal activity has  seen in the district. This does not mean that there are no Naxals in the region. We can not tell that only police alone have helped in containing Naxals in the region. The revenue and Panchayatraj officials have been implementing all the government sponsored programmes in the Naxal infested areas effectively,” he opined.

He said “In the past, Naxals were moving openly in the region. They used to challenge the police for holding meetings. They were even indulging in threatening the landlords. On the whole, the Naxal movement is on decline in the district. However, we will not reduce the Anti Naxal force in the region.”

636 applications

Hosur said in the Western range about 2953 applications have been examined during Janaspandana programme held in 96 police stations. He said “petitioners have come to us enthusiastically to find out about the status of their case.”
