"Possessing firearms is a right of the Kodavas. It is also a religious and cultural symbol of the Kodavas. The programme is being conducted in order to create awareness on the constitutional rights of Kodavas to own a gun. The programme also features mass worship of guns and aims to pass the message to the government that the possession of a gun is a birthright of a Kodava," he said.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">Nine resolutions, including urging the government to recognise the importance of guns in Kodava culture were passed on the occasion.</p>
