Last Updated 18 December 2017, 16:31 IST

Central Zoo Authority (CZA) member Secretary D N Singh on Monday said that night safari at Bannerghatta National Park will be considered if the authorities concerned submit a proposal.

He was speaking to reporters after attending the inaugural ceremony of the four-day All India Zoo Directors Conference, organised with the theme 'Vision 2030', by CZA, Zoo Authority of Karnataka (ZAK) and Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens (Mysuru Zoo), at a private hotel here. Singh said, "CZA will consider the proposals from any zoo in the country for the night safari. Due to lack of space, safari is difficult at Mysuru Zoo."

ZAK member Secretary B P Ravi said, "Earlier, ZAK had submitted a proposal for night safari at Bannerghatta National Park, but, it was rejected. We will submit a fresh proposal, after obtaining advice from the technical team."

'myzoo' app

'myzoo', a mobile application, developed by Mysuru Zoo, was launched during the inaugural ceremony of the conference. The details of the zoo, animals, and enclosures will be available in Kannada and English languages. The visitors can also book tickets through the application.
