Yogi to visit Mutt, prior to BJP convention

Last Updated 19 December 2017, 17:01 IST

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will not visit circuit house or a star hotel to get freshened up during his visit to Hubballi on Thursday (December 21), but he will visit Moorusaviramutt at 3:00 pm.

From Moorusaviramutt, he will directly come to Nehru Stadium to attend the BJP's district-level Parivartana Yatra event, which is considered as an almost official launch of the BJP's campaigning in the district, for forthcoming Assembly elections. As Yogi Adityanath has SPG cover, rally is not planned, keeping security concerns in view.

Preparations for the event are on at Nehru Stadium, while banners and buntings are also being displayed on main thoroughfares.

On Tuesday evening, MP Pralhad Joshi visited Nehru Stadium and inspected the preparations. "The stadium can accommodate maximum 50,000 people, and a similar number of people are expected to gather outside the stadium," he said.

On Mahadayi row

When asked about the expectation of some announcement from State BJP President B S Yeddyurappa about Mahadayi dispute, Mr Joshi said that the BJP has continued the efforts to convince the Goa government to find a solution for the dispute, even amidst non-co-operation from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and opposition from Congress leaders in Goa.

"We are hopeful that a positive news would come within a short period," he added.

Mayor D K Chavan, BJP leaders M Nagaraj, Mahesh Tenginkai, and others were present.
