Madan Gopal transferred under pressure

Madan Gopal is now the Secretary to Food & Civil Supplies Department. Perumal was hitherto Managing Director of Karnataka Handloom Development Corporation. M K Shivakumar, who was the principal secretary to Food & Civil Supplies Department, has been transferred without posting, according to official sources.

The transfer of Madan Gopal is said to be due to ‘pressure’ by the Bellary Reddy ministers. Madan Gopal was strictly following the Chief Minister’s direction and not entertaining any transfers in the health department.

Even Health Minister Sriramulu did not interfere in transfer issues, it is said. But the Reddys were not in favour of having Madan Gopal, official sources said.
Madan Gopal, who is on leave is Manasasarovar. He is expected to rejoin the work on June 16.
