Bengaluru Development Minister K J George on Sunday at Vidhana Soudha unveiled Bengaluru logo - a logo with a mix of Kannada and English.

The logo, launched as a part of Bengaluru Habba, will be displayed at local and international platforms to represent brand Bengaluru.

Excited citizens said that the logo showcased the identity of Bengaluru, which is a mix of modernity and culture.

"The logo turned out to be different from what I had expected. It is more than my expectation. It showcases my city and is better than that of other countries," said Medhana P, one of the thousands of people from the city who attended the launch function.

Tourism Minister Priyank Kharge said that the logo captures the spirit of the city and its people. The design has come from the people of Bengaluru. It is a crowdsourced initiative and the winner Nammur, the company that designed the logo, has been awarded with a cash prize.

The logo has a creative identity and truly represents the deep connection of the city and its residents. The logo will help leverage Bengaluru's identity better and create a brand value which will stimulate the city's economy and create jobs by attracting more footfall, Kharge added.

Bengaluru Development minister K J George said that 6,000 free Wi-Fi hotspots will be launched in the city soon.

Speaking to media on the sidelines of the logo launch, he said that at least 300 Wi-Fi hotspots will be launched on January 15, 2018.
