82 wards to have two GP members

Of the 36 Gram Panchayats in the taluk have as many as 219 wards for 587 seats. Among which two-member wards are highest in number - 82.

Besides, three GP members should be elected in 66 wards, four members in 38 wards and five members in 10 wards.

The election Commission has identified wards where more than two members are elected as sensitive and hyper-sensitive. The Returning Officer has directed the polling officers to take additional precautionary measure for the smooth conduct of the polls.

53 nominations filed

On the second day of the nomination filing for the Gram Panchayat election, a total of 53 members filed the nomination in Kolar. In Kolar - 13, Malur - 15, Bangarpet - 18, Mulbagal - 7. None from Srinivaspur taluk has filed the papers.

In Chikkaballapur

As many as 29 nomination papers have been filed on the second day in Chikkaballapur and till now a total of 63 nominations have been submitted.
