Hiremath asks CBI to file appeal in BSY case

Last Updated 25 December 2017, 16:51 IST

The Samaj Parivartana Samudaya (SPS) has written a letter to the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) to file an appeal before the High Court, against the special CBI court's order acquitting former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and his family members in the case of donations received for Prerna Trust from South West Mining Limited.

"If the CBI fails to file an appeal, we will approach the High Court," SPS chief S R Hremath said.

He told media persons here on Monday that the CBI had undertaken investigation into alleged irregularities linked with illegal mining issues and filed charge-sheet, as per the direction of the Supreme Court.

"It was expected that the CBI would appeal the High Court, after the special CBI court acquitted the accused. But, the CBI has not done so even after one year," he lamented in the letter written to the CBI SP.
