PM can solve Mahadayi issue in few minutes: Revanna

Last Updated 26 December 2017, 17:04 IST

MLA H D Revanna on Tuesday, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi can solve the Mahadayi drinking water issue in half an hour by convening a meeting.

Addressing media here Revanna said that AICC president Rahul Gandhi should write a letter to the PM in this regard and take steps to resolve the long-pending issue, related to Mahadayi and Cauvery rivers. "The PM can solve the issue in a few minutes, by convening a meeting with the chief ministers of Karnataka and Goa. But both the national parties lack the will to solve the issue," he alleged.

Both, the Congress and the BJP are trying to blame each other and neglecting the common man. The existing problems will not be sorted out until these parties are rejected by the people. People will teach a befitting lesson to these parties in the upcoming elections, he said.

Revanna pointed out that H D Deve Gowda had solved various issues during his tenure as the prime minister. Hence, the PM should intervene and solve the issue amicably. There is no point in writing a letter to Yeddyurappa, he said.

Overbridge

He targeted district in-charge Minister A Manju, by saying that he lacked information on the construction of the railway overbridge. "Manju had informed of starting the works soon, but, nothing has happened. Permission was given to construct three railway overbridges, including two at Holenarasipur. But the works have been stalled just to bring disrepute to the JD(S)," Revanna alleged.

Revanna also highlighted the drinking water crisis, which has been left unresolved. If the district administration does not take measures, it would become inevitable to stage a protest, he warned.
