Kalaburagi shuts down to protest against rape, murder of dalit girl

Protesting against the rape and murder of a dalit girl in Vijayapura last week, the Dailt Samanvaya Samiti called for a bundh in Kalaburagi on Thursday.  The bundh was largely successful.  

The agitations were held at the central bus stand, Rama Mandir and Jagat circle. The protesters burnt tires to vent their anger.  Shops remained closed.    

Bus services were totally suspended and autos stopped plying too. Some of the protesters took out a bike rally from Sardar Vallabhai Patel circle to the supermarket.
