Open Street fest today

Open Street Festival, organised as part of the ongoing Mysuru Winter Festival, will be held on D Devaraj Urs Road in the city on Saturday.

The district administration, in association with the Mysuru City Police, City Corporation, Tourism department, Mysuru Hotel Owners' Association and Mysuru Travel Association, has organised the event. The festival will be open for people from 8 am to 7.30 pm. A variety of events, such as music and cultural programmes have been organised.

District In-charge and Public Works Minister H C Mahadevappa, along with other dignitaries, will attend the event at 9.30 am.

Movement of vehicles on the street have been restricted from Friday, 9 pm. The city police have made elaborate security arrangements to ensure the safety of the visitors and whistles creating shrill sounds have been banned. The district administration had organised a similar festival on September 27, during the Mysuru Dasara to mark World Tourism Day, which received an overwhelming response from the people.
