Sivanada steel flyover soil test gets positive result

Last Updated 29 December 2017, 20:07 IST

The BBMP is all set to take up the Sivananda steel bridge project work following the positive results it got for the soil test.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) was conducting the soil test to know whether the soil was strong enough to hold the pillars of the steel bridge.

A Palike official said: "Since the soil testing results are positive we are going to take up the project."

Meanwhile, the residents opposing the flyover say that the civic body should stop the work till the court comes out with an order.

Srinivas Alavilli of Citizens for Bengaluru told DH: "The local residents are pursuing the matter in the court. The court has been very critical of the project. It has asked about the safety standards and whether there was a need for the project. The court is not working due to leave. Once the court resumes, we are confident that it will find that there is no need of flyover."

Alavilli also said that the Palike should not continue the work till the court order comes out.
