Actor texts obscene messages, booked

A Kannada film actor has been booked for sending obscene text messages to a 23-year-old co-actor.

The suspect N Rajashekar (43) has donned the victim's father's role in the movie which is likely to hit the screens in January 2018.

The film's director is playing the lead role in the movie. The victim in her complaint stated that Rajashekar sent her messages accusing her of having an affair with the film's hero. The police said that the victim lodged a complaint as the suspect started threatening her.

Rajashekar has been booked under IPC Sections 354-D (stalking), 509 (outraging the modesty of a woman), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), and 506 (criminal intimidation).
