MLA assures of measures to clear pending applications

Measures will be initiated towards disposing of the pending 941 applications for the regularisation of Bagair Hukum cultivation land. Around 800 applications have not been cleared as they are either forest or gomala land, said MLA C T Ravi.

Speaking after distributing cultivation chits to beneficiaries at the taluk office premises on Monday, he said that 11,417 applications were pending since 2004. Out of these, among 10,476 have been cleared. The pending applications will be cleared soon, he added.

The MLA further stated that the government has issued a circular towards solving the issue of forest and gomala lands. The forest and revenue departments should mark the border after measuring the lands. The procedures have to be completed within two months as the election code of conduct may be enforced at any time after February. Therefore, the meetings regarding the clearance of applications
should be convened soon.

Efforts are on to procure sanction for the rejuvenation of 34 lakes in Lakya and Sakharayapattana by supplying water from Yettinahole, he added.

Bagair Hukum cultivation committee members Eregowda, Manjunath Nayak, Sheela and member secretary Shivanna were present.
