<p align="justify" class="title">A 57-year-old pedestrian was killed on the spot while crossing a road by an over-speeding canter in Halasuru on Monday.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">According to the police, the deceased, Ramesh, was a dwarf and the canter driver failed to notice him crossing the road and ran over him.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">The police said that the accident took place at 1.30 pm at the Adarsha junction when Ramesh was walking to his home in Indiranagar from Murphy Town.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">A speeding canter loaded with carrots, coming from Kolar and going towards the City Market area ran over Ramesh.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">He was reportedly crossing the road from behind a parked auto-rickshaw.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">A few men on bikes chased the canter and stopped it around 100 metres from the spot after which they called the police.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">The police rushed to the spot and shifted Ramesh to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">The police seized the canter and arrested the driver, identified as Manjunath. The Halasuru traffic police have registered a case and are investigating further.</p>
