Thimmaiah found the back of the net in the first minute to set the ball rolling. He then sounded the board thirty minutes later with his hat-trick coming in the 45th minute. The SAI man completed his tally in the 59th and 65th minutes. MB Aiyappa scored the other goal for SAI. The consolation goal for KSP came through Magesh V in the third minute.

In the second match, Army Green edged out Canara Bank 4-2. Laxman Rao opened the account for Canara Bank in the fifth minute before Birsu Bhengra equalised for Army Green in the 17th minute. Suresh Kumar then gave the lead for Greens in the 23rd, only for Sommanna to bring parity in the 56th. The Army men, however, then pulled away with two quick goals in the space of five minutes courtesy Romen Singh and Jagir Singh in the 61st minute and 66th minutes respectively.
