A 49-year-old woman was found dead in a drain next to her house in Rajagopalanagar near Laggere on Thursday. While the police said she was electrocuted, her family alleged that she was bludgeoned to death by her relatives over a property dispute.
The deceased, Bhagyamma, was a resident of Hegganahalli and was living with her six children, the police said.
According to the police, the incident happened on Thursday afternoon when she had gone to turn on the water pump. She came in contact with a live wire and fell into the drain. Neighbours rushed her to a hospital near Soladevanahalli where she was declared brought dead. The police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating.
The police are also probing into the property dispute angle.
