<p class="title">Ways to mount pressure on Pakistan to make it act against terrorists unselectively and effectively may dominate the brief meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi may have with American President Donald Trump in Davos later this month.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Prime Minister and American President are likely to have a brief interaction on the sideline of the World Economic Forum(WEF) at Davos, Switzerland, in the fourth week of the month.</p>.<p class="bodytext">This is going to be the first meeting between the two after Washington DC suspended all security assistance to Islamabad, alleging that terrorist organizations, like Taliban and Haqqani networks, continued to get safe havens in Pakistan.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Modi will visit Davos to attend the World Economic Forum from January 22 to 23. Trump will also visit the Swiss Alpine city to attend the annual conclave.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Sources in New Delhi told the DH on Wednesday that Indian and American diplomats were in touch to schedule the bilateral meeting.</p>.<p class="bodytext">They could also have a brief "pull-aside" talks if a formal bilateral meeting could not be scheduled due to time constraints, the sources said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">If the two leaders finally meet in Davos, Modi is likely to use the opportunity to convey to Trump that US administration's move to suspend security assistance to Pakistan in fact vindicated what India had since long been arguing.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Prime Minister may reiterate New Delhi's position that international community must mount pressure on Islamabad to drop selective approach in combating terrorists as well as to deny safe havens to certain terror organizations and use them against India, sources told the DH.</p>.<p class="bodytext">New Delhi has been accusing Islamabad of misutilizing the US aid for funding anti-India terror organizations like LeT and JeM instead of combating terrorists like Al Qaeda and Taliban.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Modi, himself, raised the issue with Trump when they met at White House in Washington DC in June last year.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The Haqqani Network was held responsible for terror attacks on Embassy and Consulates General of India in Afghanistan in the past.
