BJP chief lays out strategy roadmap, fixes responsibilities

The BJP has coined the slogan 'Ee Baari BJP Sarkara' for the coming Assembly elections in the state, on the lines of the party's "Abki Bar Modi Sarkaar" slogan of the 2014 Labha polls.

BJP national president Amit Shah is learnt to have directed the state unit leaders to have the slogan painted at five places in every booth limits. There are about 56,000 polling booths, covering 224 Assembly constituencies.

Shah said this while addressing state MPs, legislators, district presidents, heads of various morchas, office-bearers, constituency incharges at a private resort here on Tuesday evening. The BJP president is said to have given a 19-point programme to the state leaders to prepare for the elections.

The main focus will be on booth-level management – setting up booth committees, page pramukhs, appointing an incharge for every five booth committees and creating WhatsApp groups of all these committees.

"I know the task assigned to you is tough. But let me assure you, effective implementation of this strategy will ensure the party's victory," he is learnt to have said. After appointing page pramukhs (a leader for every page of voters' list at the booth level), Shah has received reports from 180 of the 224 constituencies through email.

He asked those incharge of other constituencies to expedite the process and complete the task in a week's time, party sources said.

This apart, the party has decided to classify 224 constituencies into five parts and assign responsibility of overseeing the election campaign to five leaders – Union Minister for Human Resouces Development Prakash Javadekar, Minister for Railways and Coal Piyush Goyal, BJP national general secretary incharge of Karnataka P Muralidhara Rao, BJP Karnataka incharge D Purandeshwari and party's national joint organising secretary B L Santosh.

The five leaders will directly report to Shah. He has also asked the state leaders to expose cases of corruption in the Congress government.
