Those who try to obstruct Prime Minister Narendra Modi's event in Bengaluru, will be thrown into the sacrificial fire (aahuti), said BJP national general secretary in-charge of Karnataka P Muralidhar Rao on Friday.

He was speaking to reporters after performing the 'bhumi puja' at the Palace Grounds ahead of Modi's visit to Bengaluru on February 4 to participate in the valedictory ceremony of the BJP's Nava Karnataka Nirmana Parivartan Yatra.

The BJP leaders performed several 'yagas' and 'homas' to ensure that there were no pitfalls during the event, as pro-Kannada groups are planning to observe a bandh on the same day seeking early resolution of the Mahadayi river water sharing dispute.

The BJP has accused that the Karnataka bandh (on January 25) and the February 4 bandh were state sponsored.

"The BJP has performed the homas and yagnas to ensure that those who come in way (of the event) while be destroyed. The Parivartana Yatra under the leadership of B S Yeddyurappa has been a big success like the 'Ashwamedha'. This success has shaken Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who then gave a bandh call to coincide with the BJP yatra in Mysuru," Rao said.

He said that the BJP, however, would not rest until it sent Siddaramaiah packing home.
