A video clipping of a customer taking to task a bank employee, for conversing in Hindi and English, has gone viral on the social media.
The clipping shows a woman bank official speaking in English and Hindi with a rural customer, who could not understand the language, at Vijaya Bank in the town.
Another customer, Kempegowda, intervenes and takes her to task, asking her to speak in Kannada. When she tells him that she does not know the language as she is from another state, Kempegowda tells her that the employees appointed in Karnataka should learn the language in six months as per the norms.
"If they are not interested to learn the language, there is no need for them to work in Karnataka," he said.
He also urged the bank authorities to transfer such officials to other branches and depute Kannada speaking officials.
