St Agnes College, in association with All India Radio, Mangaluru and Mangalore University Dr P Dayananda Pai and Satish Pai Yakshagana Study Centre, will organise a state level seminar on 'Yakshagana: tradition and experimentation - recent trends,' at the college on February 26, stated a press release.
Folklore scholar Prof K Chinnappa Gowda will inaugurate the seminar at 9.30 am. College principal Dr Sr M Jeswina will preside. Yakshagana critic Dr M Prabhakar Joshi will deliver the keynote address.
Government First Grade College, Car Street principal Prof Rajashekhar Hebbar and All India Radio, Mangaluru Programme head Ushalatha S will be the chief guests. Radhakrishna Kalchar, Prithviraja Kavattaru and Ganaraja Kumble will be the resource persons.
Yakshagana Bhagavat Patla Satish Shetty will deliver the valedictory address in the afternoon. Mangalore University Dr P Dayananda Pai and Satish Pai Yakshagana Study Centre convener Dr Dhananjaya Kumble will preside.
Degree college lecturers and Yakshagana enthusiasts can take part.
