Addressing the people at a preliminary meeting held for the forthcoming Gram Panchayat polls at Santhemarahalli on Saturday, he said that the BJP government has failed to bring out pro-people programmes. Moreover, the state government has been portraying the Centre’s Rajiv Gandhi Vidyadikarana and Madilu yojana as their achievements.

The Chief Minister had said that he would allot Rs 10 crore for setting up the Turmeric market in Chamarajanagar, which has been now been taken up under the Centre’s one crore fund, he added.

The Gram Panchayat polls are considered to be important as the government benefit comes directly to the GP’s. Hence, the people should elect the Congress candidate, who would strive for the overall development of the district.  ZP member A S Nataraju, Block Congress President Siddalingaswamy, District Congress Vice President Sadashivamurthy, General secretary B P Puttabuddhiand others were present.
