<p align="justify">Dakshina Kannada district administration has taken up a new initiative by forming Village Level Electoral Teams (VLET), which is a first of its kind, said Additional Deputy Commissioner Kumar. He was speaking after the release of a poster and a jingle by Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), as organised by the district administration at Town Hall on Tuesday.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">He further said that the committee will comprise the respective village accountant, booth level officer (BLO), teachers, Anganwadi and Asha workers. These teams will educate people on the necessity of updating the voter's list by adding or deleting names, incorporating corrections and also on the use of electronic voting machines. The team members are being provided training at the taluk level. Preparations are being done to provide district level training as well.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">Also, in a first-of-its-kind effort, an action plan has been set up and is submitted to the SVEEP committee. Funds will be released towards the same and the action plan will be implemented during the next two months.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">The programme, Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) has the responsibility of creating awareness on free and transparent election. The Election Commission has stressed on the theme of 'Inclusive, accessible and ethical elections' to fulfill the purpose.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">The ADC meanwhile called upon people to actively take part in elections. During the previous election, Dakshina Kannada has attained first place in the state in voting. A target to achieve 80% voting has been set this time.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">The final voters' list will be put up in village, taluk and district levels on February 28.
