Last Updated 12 March 2018, 19:00 IST

Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal activists staged a protest against the state government's decision to accept the recommendations of Justice Nagamohan Das committee on Bababudangiri Swami Dargah.

They took out a protest rally from Omkareshwar Temple to Azad Park Circle, shouting slogans against the government.

They also urged the government to not allow the Muzawar to offer prayers at Bababundangiri Swami Dargah. Instead, a Hindu priest should be appointed, they insisted. The tombs in the dargah should be translocated to Nagenahalli. Idols of Anasuyadevi and Dattatreya Swami should be installed after declaring the place as a Hindu shrine. The 'Chaturveda Peetha' should be reconsecrated.

Bajrang Dal leaders Raghu Sakaleshpur, Tudukuru Manju, Yogish Raj Urs and Krishna took part in the protest among others.
