<div align="justify">The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) ended its four-year-old alliance with the BJP on Friday and pulled out of the NDA over denial of Special Category status to Andhra Pradesh. <br /><br />The decision has come eight days after withdrawing its two ministers P Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Y S Chowdary from the Narendra Modi cabinet.<br /><br />TDP president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who had a teleconference with his party MPs and politburo members on Friday morning, said he had decided to pull out of the NDA and snap ties with the BJP. <br /><br />He said he is writing a letter to BJP president Amit Shah explaining the reasons for the withdrawal from the NDA and breaking alliance with the BJP.<br /> <br />The high powered politburo on Friday decided to move a no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi government, in protest against the injustice meted out to Andhra Pradesh in the Union budget and also non-implementation of promises made in the AP Reorganization Act, 2014, including granting of special category status to AP. Party sources say that a notice to this effect has been served to the Lok Sabha Secretariat by the party MPs in New Delhi on Friday morning.<br /> <br />The TDP's notice is independent of a similar notice for no-confidence motion already served by the YSR Congress party, the main opposition in AP.<br /> <br />"After seeing the way the Centre is rejecting our demand for separate railway zone for Visakhapatnam and denial of viability gap funding for the Kakinada petrochemical complex, it is pretty clear that the BJP has no concern for the state," a senior minister in Naidu's cabinet said.<br /> <br />Naidu also said to have pointed out that railway minister Piyush Goel had refused to meet the TDP MPs who went him to discuss the railway zone issue but gave an appointment to a YSR Congress party MP at the same time. "The top BJP leadership was behind the unwarranted outburst of Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan to make baseless allegations against him and the government," Naidu alleged.<br /> <br />Indirectly referring to Modi and BJP president Amit Shah, the TDP president alleged the top leadership in Delhi was trying to replicate the Tamil Nadu experiment in Andhra Pradesh, thereby destabilizing the TDP government by instigating forces like Pawan Kalyan.<br /> <br /><br /></div>
