State seeks kerosene quota

In a letter to the Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, the CM said Karnataka was till recently getting a monthly allotment of 49,396 kilo litre. But it has been reduced to 46,900 KL.   

The State has been facing power deficit, and large number people in rural areas are dependent on the PDS kerosene for their daily needs. The Centre’s decision to cut 2,496 KL per month to  the State will affect these people, the CM stated.

Besides, he said that the State has been at the forefront of reforms in the PDS and has been ensuring availability of kerosene to the needy consumers.
