Ailing man coaxes daughter to attend exam, dies before her return

A 53-year-old man sufferring from chest pain, who convinced his daughter to attend the SSLC examination passed away by the time she returned home completing her examination, in Chamanahalli near Koppa of Mandya district on Monday.

Thyagaraju developed chest pain on Monday morning while his daughter Darshini was about to leave home for her SSLC examination. Before he was rushed to hospital, Thyagaraju advised his daughter not to miss the exam for any reason. He had said that her efforts for the whole year would go waste if she skipped the examination on account of his ill-health.

Acting on her father's advice, Darshini went to the examination. But, by the time she returned, Thyagaraju had died of cardiac arrest. "Even while writing my exams, I was worried over his health. But, I never thought that he would leave all of us, suddenly," she said.
