Brahman Mahasangh puts forth its demands

Last Updated 05 April 2018, 19:13 IST

The Akhil Bharatiya Brahman Mahasangh has put forth its demands before political parties for the upcoming Assembly elections.

The organisation said that the parties which include them in their manifesto would get the community's support.

President of the Mahasangh Govinda Kulkarni told reporters that Brahmins have been reflected in the society as those who vote for one particular political party, but there is a need to change this mindset.

"The Brahmin community is lagging behind in all sectors and many families are struggling for a livelihood. The economic condition of the community is in a bad state," he added.

Vishwanath Joshi from the Mahasangh said they will begin a campaign in all the districts once all political parties release their manifesto.

If the political parties do not include the interests of the Brahmin community, then the Mahasangh will create awareness to choose Nota (None of the Above) option on the Electronic Voting Machine.
