They pierce bodies to please gods

This peculiar vow is fulfiled during the Karumariamma annual festival at Kereya Kerekodamma temple at Basavanahalli by the Tamil speaking people in the city dwelling at Tamil colony.

As many as 25 devotees who had offered vows to the goddess, on Friday pulled two lorries, goods autos, passenger auto, tractor and Maruti van by the hooks pierced on their backs.
The little children were seen with trident pierced on their tongue and across the cheeks.
A large number of people gathered to have a look at the festival which has been creating awe.
