Auditor jumps from 11th-floor flat, cops suspect marital discord

Last Updated 06 April 2018, 19:02 IST

A 36-year-old auditor died after plunging from  his 11th-floor flat in Northeast Bengaluru's  Hegde Nagar in the early hours of  Friday. Police suspect a marital dispute behind the suicide.

Kumar,  an auditor at a private firm  in Kumara Park West,  and his wife Darsha of four years often quarrelled over trivial issues and slept in separate bedrooms in their flat in  Vajram Essenza apartment. They have a two-year-old daughter.

Police suspect Kumar jumped from the balcony of his bedroom after his wife and daughter went to sleep on Thursday night.  The incident came to light in the early hours of  Friday when Darsha started looking for her husband in the house.  She peeped through the balcony and was stunned to find him lying in a pool of blood downstairs.

She ran down screaming. She informed her parents and neighbours who, in turn, called the police. A senior police officer said no suicide note had been found.  The Kothanur police have registered a case of unnatural death.
