The committee for enforcing model code of conduct has filed a complaint with the Robertsonpet police against Congress members for a display of the party flag without permission.

The flag was on display during the visit of AICC president Rahul Gandhi to town on Saturday.

Following the speech by Rahul Gandhi, some women were seen carrying flags with the party symbol. The committee members stopped and questioned the women, who replied that they were handed the flag by some people.

When inspected, the flag did not carry the details of the printers.

The committee members filed a complaint with the police after the incident, for a violation of the model code of conduct.

Banners and buntings

BJP activist Ravi has complained to the election officer that banners and buntings too have been used illegally during Rahul Gandhi's speech.

Hundreds of Youth Congress members had gathered on the Robertsonpet government hospital premises well in advance of Rahul Gandhi's arrival to the venue. They were shouting slogans on the premises and came in a procession towards the dais. The patients in the hospital were inconvenienced by the actions of the political party members and activists, said the hospital staff members.
