The district administration, under the SVEEP programme, has initiated several programmes that also include promotional measures using posters of real-life situations.

Speaking to reporters after unveiling posters carrying various messages about the awareness to vote, Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis said that real-life situations are selected in order to ensure that people give more importance to voting even if they have to stop their work for a day. "Professional commitments, along with the enthusiasm to cast their rights are clearly exposed in each poster," she said. The picture frames of the public were shot when they were involved in their occupations and professions, she added.

Slogans, such as "Varusha Nooru, Mathadanada Sambhrama Joru", "Kulumeya Yettu, Mathadanada Votu", "Endu Nanna Matadana, Munde Ninna Mathadana", "Parishudhha Halinanthe Erali Namma Mathadana", "Yentha Kelasa Idru Vote Hakuvudanna Mareyabeda", "Vote Padere Undu Bega Poyi" and "Ondagihevu Naavu Mathadanakkagi Hosa NadigagiJotheyagi" are appealing. These slogans are used to convince the voters of the importance of casting their vote.

The SVEEP programmes are initiated on a large scale to ensure maximum polling in the district. She said that as many as 10 FIRs on the violations of model code of conduct is registered. The cash seized will be under investigation by the Cash Seizure Committee. The amount would be returned only after proper clarification and evidence offered in support of the cash possessed. The checkpost at Thekatte is shifted to Sasthana as there are accidents taking place because of it, she said.
