<p>The Transport department seized 108 vehicles across the state on Wednesday for violations of the Motor Vehicles Act and the election model code of conduct.</p>.<p>The maximum number of vehicles seized was 40 from Bengaluru Rural district, followed by 19 from Belagavi.</p>.<p>A total of 11,596 vehicles were stopped and checked, of which the owners of 1,160 vehicles were booked. In all, Rs 28,71,480 was collected in tax and Rs 1,86,729 as fine.</p>
